Senior Front End Developer
We are seeking a talented senior developer to work with our teams in a leading global Tier 1 investment bank to join its London-based Equity Derivatives Pre-Trade Technology team.
This is a high-impact role where you'll help shape and deliver a strategic pre-trade Request-for-Quote (RFQ) and pricing platform used globally by Equity Derivatives and Delta One trading desks. You'll combine hands-on development with technical leadership, working closely with Front Office Sales, Trading, Quantitative Research and Technology teams to deliver business-critical solutions.
Essential functions
- Develop high-quality, scalable software following engineering best practices.
- Partner directly with traders, sales teams and quants to deliver innovative front-office solutions.
- Drive architecture, technical direction and system enhancements across the platform.
- Mentor developers and contribute to a high-performance engineering culture.
- Champion observability, automated testing and CI/CD best practices.
- Work within an agile, fast-paced environment delivering frequent releases.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience as a Senior Developer or Technical Lead.
- Strong front-end development expertise, particularly JavaScript and React.
- Proven experience building production-grade applications and distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of APIs, microservices and modern software architecture.
- Experience with automated testing, monitoring, observability and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage directly with business stakeholders.
Would be a plus
- Experience within Equity Derivatives, Delta One, Electronic Trading or Front Office technology.
- Development of applications handling real-time market data, orders or trading workflows.
- Experience with cloud-native and containerised environments.
- Exposure to Kubernetes and microservices architectures.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and LLM-powered engineering workflows.
