Senior financial controller, Treasury

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collection of daily, weekly, and monthly cash position reports, ensuring their accuracy and timely preparation;
• Development of liquidity allocation plans, selection and approval of terms for placing funds in financial instruments to optimize interest income while maintaining compliance with risk limits;
• Preparation of materials and reports for the Board of Directors and the Audit Committee on treasury matters, liquidity management, financial and banking risks, and compliance with the Treasury Policy;
• Coordination of dividend payments, as well as share buyback and subsequent share distribution transactions within the Group;
• Coordination and oversight of bank account opening and closing processes, credit facility arrangement and monitoring, as well as KYC/AML procedures for Air Astana Group’s subsidiaries, representative offices, and other entities;
• Negotiation with existing banking partners and potential partner banks to improve commercial and operational terms;
• Organization and oversight of the issuance, renewal, and execution of bank guarantees and letters of credit in favor of the Group’s key counterparties, including lessors and providers of navigation and airport services;
• Ensuring the timely preparation and submission of regulatory reports to the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan (NBK), as well as maintaining communication with regulatory and supervisory authorities;
• Performing other duties and addressing matters within the scope of treasury operations to ensure the effective functioning of treasury processes.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Higher education in Finance, Economics, or Accounting;
• 3+ years of professional experience in Finance / Treasury;
• Proficient with Oracle ERP system and advanced knowledge of MS Excel;
• Sound understanding of cash management principles, deal structuring, and liquidity management within a group of companies;
• Strong knowledge of banking, financial, and investment instruments, as well as trade finance;
• Knowledge of the local banking system and FX/currency regulations of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
• Strong attention to detail, ability to handle large volumes of data, analytical mindset, and strong teamwork skills.
