Senior DevOps Engineer with SRE responsibilities

Your initial project will be a core AI & Data platform, designed to provide a best in class environment for building, running and scaling AI solutions. The platform provides tools, services, frameworks and data so teams can focus on solving business problems, not rebuilding infrastructure. • Data Scientists building analytics, ML and GenAI solutions • Engineers and Developers integrating AI into applications and workflows • Business users consuming AI-enabled insights and services Role overview: We are seeking a hands-on DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer to support reliable, controlled and auditable delivery of technology change within a financial services environment. The role will focus on automation, operational stability, CI/CD enablement, release governance and production readiness across data and platform services.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines, with strong practical experience of GitHub Actions.
• Support production deployments, environment readiness, rollback planning and post-release validation.
• Operate within formal release and change management processes, including change records, approvals, risk assessment and implementation evidence.
• Improve reliability through automation, monitoring, runbooks, operational controls and reduction of manual toil.
• Collaborate with engineering, platform, operations and governance stakeholders to ensure changes are delivered safely and predictably.

SKILLS

Must have

• Demonstrable experience delivering production releases and governed technology change in financial services or another highly regulated environment.
• Strong hands-on DevOps / SRE background, with practical ownership of deployment automation, operational support and service reliability.
• Strong Experience with GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipeline design, workflow governance and deployment automation.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform and Google Cloud Observability (or equivalent with other cloud providers)
• Working knowledge of ServiceNow change, incident and problem management processes.
• Comfortable troubleshooting production issues, coordinating releases, documenting implementation plans and communicating clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Nice to have: Kubernetes experience with deployment through Helm / Argo
• Nice to have: Understanding of Apache Airflow, MinIO, Terraform or equivalent technologies including how these technologies are used in data platform or analytics environments. Ideal profile The successful candidate will be pragmatic, delivery-focused and comfortable working hands-on while operating within disciplined governance controls. They should be able to balance speed of delivery with production safety, auditability and risk management.
