Senior Database Administrator (SQL Server)
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Database Administrator (SQL Server) to lead the migration and optimization of our multi-region, multi-master SQL Server architecture.
This critical role involves ensuring seamless migration from SQL Server 2008 to SQL Server 2022 while maintaining data integrity, replication accuracy, and compatibility with legacy applications.
Responsibilities
- Validate the migration architecture and cutover strategy
- Define replication requirements for cross-regional, regional, and non-replicated tables and prepare instructions for the DBA team
- Verify the execution of replication setup and migration strategy using SQL scripts
- Ensure complete data consistency pre- and post-migration via row counts, checksums, schema comparisons, and key range checks
- Confirm data transfer completeness and prevent data loss during migration
- Assess compatibility of legacy .NET 2.0–4.5 applications with SQL Server 2022, including drivers, connection strings, and timeouts
- Collaborate on designing runbooks for migration, rollback, and verification processes
- Work with multi-region SQL Server replication and distributed database topologies
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience with SQL Server versions 2008 through 2022
- Knowledge of transactional replication, peer-to-peer topologies, and distribution to read replicas
- Background in multi-region or distributed database environments
- Qualifications in complex database migrations, including supervision and execution
- Skills in T-SQL for schemas, replication objects, triggers, and constraints
- Ability to design and run comprehensive data validation scripts
- Proficiency in DNS-based failover, active-standby architectures, and NAS storage concepts
- Experience collaborating with DBA teams to validate modifications
- Familiarity with C# .NET Framework 2.0/4.0/4.5
- Upper-Intermediate English language proficiency (B2)

- Experience with Datadog for logs, metrics, dashboards, and alerts
- Background in Rundeck or similar orchestration platforms
- Skills in PowerShell automation
- Understanding of legacy .NET Framework systems and their database interactions
