Senior Data Product Owner

Grid Dynamics is looking for a Senior Data Product Owner to join an international Data Strategy & Enablement initiative for a global medical technology company.

This is a hands-on Product Owner role combining product ownership, business analysis, and delivery management. You will work directly with senior business stakeholders, translate business needs into technical requirements and developer-ready stories, and guide the delivery team from initial requirements through successful release and adoption.

The role is focused on enterprise Data & AI products that support analytics, AI initiatives, and operational workflows across multiple European markets.

Essential functions

• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of data products: vision → roadmap → backlog → delivery → release → adoption
• Work directly with senior business stakeholders to understand business challenges, priorities, and expected outcomes
• Translate business requirements into technical requirements, epics, and developer-ready user stories
• Proactively identify and clarify requirements rather than simply documenting existing requests
• Prioritise and manage the product backlog and lead refinement and planning activities
• Coordinate the delivery team and ensure solutions are delivered according to agreed scope and business priorities
• Define and maintain a 12–24 month product vision and outcome-based roadmap
• Define and track KPIs/OKRs related to product adoption, data quality, time-to-data, ROI, and user satisfaction
• Work with data contracts, semantic layers, and cross-domain data products
• Ensure data governance, privacy, security, and lifecycle requirements are incorporated into product delivery
• Support GDPR and data residency requirements across different markets
• Drive adoption and reuse of enterprise data platforms and reference architectures
• Manage stakeholder communication, business cases, and executive-level reporting
• Participate in release/change management, incident triage, and root-cause analysis
• Support product budgeting, forecasting, and ROI reporting

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant experience in Product Ownership/Product Management, data platforms, analytics, digital strategy, or similar roles
• Proven experience owning and delivering data products from concept through production and adoption
• Strong experience working directly with senior business stakeholders
• Ability to independently elicit requirements and turn ambiguous business needs into actionable solutions
• Strong ability to translate business needs → technical requirements → user stories
• Hands-on experience with backlog management, user story writing, acceptance criteria, refinement, and Agile delivery
• Experience managing or coordinating delivery teams and taking ownership of delivery outcomes
• Good understanding of data pipelines, ETL/ELT, data modeling, and modern data platforms
• Understanding of data governance, GDPR/data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements
• Familiarity with production concepts such as SLAs/SLOs, monitoring, and observability
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• English B2 or higher
