Senior Data Engineer (Python, AWS)
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer (Python, AWS) to support the design, development, and enhancement of our client’s enterprise data platform. The ideal candidate is a hands-on data engineer with strong experience building data pipelines, integrating data from operational databases, and working with modern cloud data warehouses.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Python-based ETL/ELT workflows for data ingestion, transformation, and validation
- Design and develop data pipelines
- Develop scalable and performant data models
- Implement and maintain Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) data models to support analytics and downstream applications
- Collaborate with application developers, business users, and data consumers to understand data requirements
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on data engineering experience
- Strong Python programming skills with experience building ETL/ELT pipelines
- Solid SQL skills, including query optimization and data modeling
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure
- Experience integrating data from OLTP databases, including PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience implementing Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) or similar layered data lake/lakehouse models
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Nice to have
- Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
- Familiarity with dbt or similar transformation frameworks
- Experience with CI/CD for data engineering workflows
