Senior Backend Engineer

Description

The company is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to join its Customer Focus Group (CFG) — a technical team that connects engineering with the commercial side of the product.

CFG team members work across development, architecture, product, and customer-facing activities. The role involves understanding customer needs, translating them into product improvements, building new features, and solving urgent technical challenges.

We’re looking for a strong backend engineer who can combine deep technical expertise with a broader product and customer perspective. The role has a strong focus on infrastructure, performance, scalability, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
• Develop new features based on customer and product requirements
• Work closely with customers to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions
• Investigate and resolve complex technical and production issues
• Improve system performance, reliability, and scalability
• Contribute to backend architecture and technical decision-making
• Work with SQL and NoSQL databases and support high-volume data processing
• Build and maintain cloud-based solutions using AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Success teams
• Participate in code reviews, testing, CI/CD, and Agile development processes
• Take ownership of features from design and development through deployment and support
• Help improve the overall customer experience and product quality

Requirements

• Strong understanding of backend architecture, including microservices, API design, and design patterns
• Proficiency in Node.js / TypeScript or another relevant backend language
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience building and scaling systems for high-volume data processing
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Familiarity with cloud services such as serverless computing and managed databases
• 5+ years of backend development experience, preferably with customer-focused products
• Strong problem-solving skills and experience building performant, scalable solutions
• Experience with Agile development and CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including working with globally distributed teams
