About the Position
The DevOps Engineer combines platform engineering and strategic enablement to shape, implement, and continuously improve DevOps practices across the enterprise estate. This role focuses on building scalable CI/CD pipelines, driving Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and standardizing automated, secure, and observable cloud operations.
Responsibilities
- Define and evolve DevOps patterns, best practices, and release governance; champion automation-first and Infrastructure as Code approaches.
- Design, deploy, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines supporting multi-environment promotion, standardized branching, and deployment governance.
- Lead infrastructure automation utilizing Terraform or ARM/Bicep to ensure environments are secure, reproducible, and aligned with architectural principles.
- Implement comprehensive logging, monitoring, and alerting frameworks to drive proactive optimization, resilience, and incident reduction.
- Embed security controls, secrets management, identity controls, and role-based access directly into pipelines and cloud configurations.
- Partner closely with engineering and integration teams to enhance delivery flow, streamline build processes, and coach developers on modern DevOps practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of proven experience as a DevOps Engineer working within Azure cloud environments.
- In-depth understanding of CI/CD principles, pipeline architecture, and multi-stage release management.
- Proven proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tooling (e.g., Terraform, ARM/Bicep).
- Solid grasp of version control workflows and advanced Git branching strategies.
- Demonstrated background in configuring enterprise monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions.
- Track record of embedding security best practices into cloud infrastructure and automation pipelines.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary delivery teams within complex enterprise environments.

- Hands-on experience with containerisation and modern container orchestration models.
- Experience refactoring and modernizing legacy release processes.
- Exposure to hybrid delivery frameworks balancing Agile methodologies with enterprise governance.
