Senior Automation test Engineer

Our client is modernizing its in-store application platform supporting approximately 7,000 restaurants within a broader 30,000+ store ecosystem, transforming a legacy monolithic .NET application into an offline-first, event-driven platform using AWS microservices, Lambda, and cloud-native services. The new architecture synchronizes lightweight in-store devices—including POS registers, kitchen displays, and kiosks—across Windows, Linux, and Android. The foundational platform team owns the shared AWS backend architecture and on-device framework, enabling other teams to build front-end register workflows and in-store hardware integrations on a scalable, resilient platform.

Essential functions

• Design a test strategy covering this work stream's offline/online, sync, and (where relevant) hardware-integration edge cases.
• Define test coverage across the on-device app and the AWS services this work stream touches.
• Build and own automation frameworks that go beyond basic UI record-and-replay automation.
• Mentor the pod's Mid QE and coordinate test cycles with the Pod Lead and engineers.
• Report quality risk and coverage gaps to the Delivery Manager and Pod Lead.

Qualifications

Experience :-
6–10 years of QE experience.

Requirements :-

• Minimum 6 plus years of QE experience, including at least one distributed-systems or offline-first product.
• Strong test-strategy / test-architecture background — this role designs the strategy, not just executes it.
• Hands-on with UI automation (Selenium WebDriver) and API testing (Postman or comparable) to build/own automation frameworks that go well beyond simple "record and replay" scripts.
• Comfortable defining test coverage across both an on-device application layer and backend AWS services.

Would be a plus

experience with sync/CRDT-style systems; POS or retail-hardware testing experience.
