Senior Automation Engineer
We are looking for a Senior Automation Engineer to become part of our team.
In this position, you will take an active role in shaping how automation testing is planned, carried out, and advanced across the project. You will work hand in hand with engineers and stakeholders to ensure testing practices stay aligned with modern development workflows and reliably produce high-quality results.
Responsibilities
- Set the overall test strategy covering all automation-related activities
- Configure tools and prepare the setup necessary to support automation initiatives
- Enhance the existing Katalon Studio framework to expand its capabilities
- Build detailed test cases addressing critical functional areas and scenarios
- Recommend efficient solutions for testing challenges and process improvements
- Run test cases and track their outcomes throughout execution cycles
- Produce user-friendly test reports that offer clear visibility to stakeholders
- Link Katalon automation reports with Polarion to enable centralized tracking
- Verify custom keywords utilized within automation frameworks
- Implement the setup required for smooth and steady automation operations
- Introduce clear test processes for the team to apply in a consistent manner
- Assign roles and responsibilities within the automation team
- Coach team members on automation frameworks and recommended best practices
- Guide and support the team across the entire development lifecycle
- Enable the handover of automation work and knowledge to the broader team
Requirements
- No less than 3 years of hands-on professional experience in automation engineering
- Background in automation testing integrated with DevOps pipelines
- Applied implementation of automation using Katalon Studio and Appium
- Practical involvement in unit testing and UX testing activities
- Working grasp of TDD and BDD frameworks for structured test creation
- Experience operating within fast-paced Agile environments
- Broad familiarity with Katalon, Bitbucket, GitLab, TeamCity, and Source Tree
- Proven capability to plan and coordinate test automation efforts
- Skill in defining and sharing the test strategy with the automation team
- Ability to ensure the team consistently follows standard automation processes
- Practical experience with Cucumber for behavior-driven test scenarios and Selenium for web application test automation
- Confident English communication at B2 level or higher, both written and spoken
Nice to have
- Awareness of Atlassian Jira for tracking test activities and defects
- Background in Continuous Integration development and maintenance to support automated workflows
- Hands-on exposure to GUI testing across different platforms and applications
- Working knowledge of Postman for API testing and validation
- Experience in web service and API test automation
