SAP Data Engineer
We are looking for a motivated and hands-on SAP Data Engineer to join our data and analytics team.
In this role, you will contribute to connecting enterprise SAP data with modern cloud data architecture. You will help develop and maintain scalable data pipelines, integrate and transform SAP and non-SAP sources, and support the creation of high-quality, reusable Data Products that enable analytical and operational excellence across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable and reliable batch and streaming data pipelines under the guidance of senior engineers
- Integrate and transform data from various enterprise sources (including SAP ERP/S4HANA and external applications) using modern tooling
- Contribute to the development of reusable, domain-oriented Data Products for analytical reporting, machine learning, and operational workflows
- Use SAP Business Data Cloud, SAP Datasphere, and Apache Spark to process datasets within a modern cloud ecosystem
- Support data governance efforts by following compliance, data quality, and security practices; assist with metadata management and data lineage
- Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and other engineers to apply data modeling standards, participate in CI/CD data workflows, and follow best practices in data engineering
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or data integration
- Practical experience with SAP Datasphere and/or SAP Business Data Cloud
- Working knowledge of Apache Spark (PySpark/Scala) for distributed data processing and transformation
- Good understanding of data modeling concepts (dimensional modeling) and awareness of modern data architecture approaches (Data Mesh / Data Fabric)
- Solid SQL skills and proficiency in Python or Java for data pipeline development
- English level B1+ for effective communication
Nice to have
- Exposure to Collibra for data governance and cataloging
- Experience with Document Management Systems (DMS) integration
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Strong problem-solving skills, willingness to learn, and the ability to collaborate effectively in an agile, cross-functional global environment
