About the Position
We are looking for a Quality Engineering professional with solid hands-on experience across the full testing lifecycle and strong practical skills in Playwright and TypeScript. You will work in an automation-first environment where test design and automated coverage are built within the sprint using AI-assisted workflows — shipping quality as a continuous activity rather than a late-stage checkpoint.
You will own quality for your assigned product area end to end — from analyzing requirements and designing test cases with AI-assisted tooling, to building and maintaining automated coverage within the sprint, contributing to release sign-off, and continuously improving the shared test suite.
This position is intended for Hyderabad-based candidates who are available to work from the office.
About the Project
Our client, a globally recognized leader in investment management education and certification, operates a scaled Quality Engineering function across a broad technology landscape — SaaS and custom-built systems spanning ERP, CRM, CMS, LMS, e-commerce, exam and certification delivery, and supporting data platforms running across AWS and Azure. With an AI-native testing platform, automation-first practices, and a structured weekly release cadence, the client treats quality as a continuous team responsibility rather than a final-gate checkpoint.
QE engineers own the full quality lifecycle for their assigned product area and contribute to a shared Playwright + TypeScript automation platform already in production across all teams. Engineers join an established platform rather than build tooling from scratch.
Responsibilities
- Analyze stories, acceptance criteria, and specifications using AI-assisted tooling to identify test scenarios, coverage gaps, and risks before development begins.
- Design and author test cases with AI-assisted support, aligned with sprint deliverables and release scope.
- Build and maintain automated UI and API test coverage in TypeScript and Playwright within each sprint, using AI-assisted workflows for test design, code authoring, and suite maintenance; apply hands-on exploratory testing where it adds coverage that automation alone cannot provide.
- Report, track, and verify defects through resolution, coordinating with developers and product teams on priority and impact.
- Keep test case management and automation results in sync, ensuring automated coverage reflects test design and that results accurately represent CI state.
- Participate in sprint ceremonies as the QE voice for your team.
- Contribute to release sign-off activities, including stage verification, Allure results review, and release readiness confirmation.
- Participate in code reviews for automation contributions and contribute reusable components to the shared framework.
- Monitor automation health and defect trends using AI-powered analysis and raise quality concerns proactively.
Requirements
- Solid experience covering the full testing lifecycle: requirements analysis, test design, manual and exploratory testing, defect management, and test automation.
- Proficiency in TypeScript and hands-on experience with Playwright for UI and API test automation.
- Experience with test case management platforms (TestRail or equivalent).
- Familiarity with test reporting platforms (Allure or equivalent).
- Experience working in an AI-assisted development environment (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent).
- Understanding of AI agent concepts and their practical application across the testing lifecycle.
- Experience working within CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (Git).
- Experience in Agile delivery (Scrum or equivalent) as a QE team member.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to define what needs testing, not just execute what is assigned.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across developers, product, and delivery.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with cloud-based cross-browser testing platforms (LambdaTest or equivalent).
- Familiarity with cloud secrets management and infrastructure access (AWS Secrets Manager or equivalent).
- Exposure to enterprise SaaS platforms such as ERP, CRM, CMS, or LMS systems in a QE context.
- Experience with API testing tools (Postman or equivalent).
- Familiarity with performance or accessibility testing approaches.
- Exposure to DevOps practices and automation pipelines.
- Understanding of modern software architecture patterns (microservices, REST, GraphQL).
