Product Manager (Activation)

Prequel https://prequel.app/ is a fast-growing mobile app on a mission to bring the magic of aesthetic editing to millions of creators. We are looking for a Senior Product Manager who will take full ownership of our User Activation journey.

You won’t just be executing tasks or running sporadic tests. We need a systematic product thinker to build a high-tempo experimentation pipeline ensuring every new user hits their "aha-moment" as quickly as possible.

• Own User Activation: Your primary, laser-focused goal is to grow the share of new users who reach their first value action and stick around (install → activated → retained).
• Full-Cycle Experimentation: Build and maintain a continuous, high-tempo stream of A/B tests focused on the first session, time-to-value, and D1-D7 retention. We need a working conveyor belt of hypotheses with a predictable launch rate, not just random occasional tests.
• Metrics with Meaning: Interpret product metrics through the lens of real user behavior. We don't do "numbers for the sake of numbers" or build feature factories. Every decision must be tied to product and business impact.
• Grow Your Scope: Initially, your core focus will be exclusively on user activation and onboarding. However, as you crush these goals and build a scalable process, you’ll have the opportunity to take over the Content Stream (ranking, performance) and core product features from the Team Lead.

• 3 years of Product Management experience in B2C mobile apps (working with subscriptions is a must).
• Proven track record in activation: clear, measurable case studies showing how you grew onboarding/activation metrics.
• Solid understanding of A/B test design: you know how to formulate hypotheses, set stopping rules, and decide when an A/B test is actually needed vs. when to use other research methods.
• Highly proactive and systematic: you naturally bring problems and solutions to the table, keep your backlog clean, and don't wait for top-down tasks.
• A "product over project" mindset: you focus on moving business metrics, not just closing Jira tickets.
• You actively use AI tools in your daily workflow for research, PRDs, prototyping, and hypothesis generation, knowing both their strengths and limitations.
