About the Position
We are looking for a Principal Integration Architect to define and lead the end to end integration strategy for a large scale payments platform modernization program. You will take ownership of how systems, products, and external partners connect across regions, setting architectural direction and ensuring consistency in delivery. In this role, you will work closely with engineering, product, and program teams, combining strategic oversight with hands on involvement to turn integration designs into reliable, scalable, and secure solutions.
About the Project
This initiative focuses on modernizing global spend management platforms by unifying systems, improving interoperability, and enabling scalable integrations across multiple markets. The program combines legacy transformation with modern cloud-based design principles.
Responsibilities
- Define and lead the end to end integration architecture across the program
- Set and evolve integration patterns such as API first and event driven approaches
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to translate architecture into deliverable solutions
- Design integration solutions across payment and compliance platforms
- Establish governance practices that ensure consistent and scalable delivery
- Plan and support the migration of legacy systems toward a unified architecture
- Design secure and compliant integrations with third party providers
- Act as the technical authority across multiple regions and workstreams
- Align stakeholders on architectural decisions and technical direction
Requirements
- Proven experience as a solution or integration architect in enterprise environments
- Experience delivering distributed systems at scale
- Hands on experience with API design and event driven systems
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture
- Experience with at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Knowledge of security standards including OAuth2 and PCI DSS
- Experience working with payment or financial systems
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non technical stakeholders
- Experience working across large transformation programs
Nice to Have
- Experience in fintech or SaaS environments
- Hands on experience with messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with multi region or multi market platforms
- Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements in financial services
