Platform Engineer

About the Position

We are looking for a Platform Engineer to support the development and integration of cloud native AI platforms and agent based systems. In this role, you will design and implement API integrations, build operational controls, and enhance platform reliability, security, and performance. You will collaborate with platform, security, and engineering teams to deliver scalable integration solutions for enterprise AI services.

The project focuses on building a secure and scalable platform that enables communication between AI agents, enterprise services, and cloud infrastructure. The platform provides centralized governance, operational controls, observability, and integration capabilities to support enterprise AI workloads.

About the Team

You will work within a cross functional team of platform engineers, backend developers, cloud specialists, security engineers, and architects. The team follows a collaborative delivery model with a strong focus on automation, performance, reliability, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain cloud native integrations between AI platforms, enterprise services, and cloud infrastructure
• Build and support REST API integrations and service communication layers
• Implement integrations using AWS AgentCore Gateway and related platform services
• Design and maintain operational control mechanisms, including throttling, quota management, circuit breakers, and kill switch capabilities
• Develop Python based services, utilities, and integration components
• Implement Human in the Loop workflow patterns to support governance and approval processes
• Collaborate with security teams to integrate IAM, STS, and audit logging controls
• Support observability, monitoring, and operational reporting requirements across platform services
• Conduct performance analysis and latency measurements for authorization and policy evaluation workflows
• Participate in architecture reviews, troubleshooting activities, and continuous platform improvements
• Create technical documentation and contribute to operational best practices

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in platform engineering, backend engineering, or a related field
• Experience building and supporting cloud native API integrations
• Hands on experience with AWS security services, including IAM, STS, and CloudTrail
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs and distributed systems integration
• Experience with Python development for backend services, integrations, or automation
• Understanding of JSON RPC 2.0, Server Sent Events, or similar communication protocols
• Knowledge of operational reliability patterns, including throttling, quota enforcement, and circuit breaker mechanisms
• Experience working with cloud infrastructure and modern application architectures
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills

Nice to Have

• Experience integrating policy enforcement capabilities with AWS AgentCore Gateway
• Experience using performance and load testing tools such as k6 or Locust
• Knowledge of MCP architectures and agent gateway implementation patterns
• Experience designing Human in the Loop workflow integrations
• Understanding of enterprise AI platforms and governance requirements
• Experience with observability, operational monitoring, and audit reporting solutions
