We're looking for a Payments Architect to join our team in Poland.
In this role, you will lead architecture design and governance for large-scale payments and digital banking initiatives that involve regulatory compliance and innovation. Acting as a key technology leader, you will create target state architectures, produce high-level designs and drive technology strategy for critical financial services programs. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on major digital transformation initiatives, impacting key areas such as PSD2 compliance, GDPR requirements and omni-channel capabilities to deliver better banking experiences.
Responsibilities
- Conduct As-Is architecture assessments and produce Target State Architecture definitions for payment and digital banking initiatives
- Create high-level design documentation and provide architectural guidance for development teams across multiple workstreams
- Design solutions leveraging key patterns and technologies such as REST API development, microservices-based architecture, SOA, event-driven integration and batch processing
- Manage architectural decision tracking and ensure alignment with enterprise and regulatory standards
- Present solution options, negotiate trade-offs and secure agreement with business and technology stakeholders
- Ensure architectural deliverables support both regulatory requirements and commercial objectives
- Oversee the application of EPAM’s best practices and reusable components in solution architecture
- Actively collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile or hybrid delivery model
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Solution or Payments Architect within large-scale digital transformation programs in financial services
- Strong background in banking architecture design, including payment systems, digital channels and integration patterns
- Expertise in RESTful API design, microservices architecture, SOA principles and eventing technologies
- Understanding of batch integration patterns and related technologies
- Experience managing and tracking architectural design decisions within complex enterprise programs
- Ability to evaluate solution options and facilitate agreement between technical and business stakeholders
- Strong communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Fluent English, both spoken and written
Nice to have
- Familiarity with regulatory-driven projects such as PSD2, GDPR and similar regulations
- Knowledge of omni-channel banking concepts and modernization initiatives
- Background in Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies
