Why this role matters
You will play a pivotal role in modernising how our Legal function operates, sitting within the Intellectual Property & Brand Protection team while driving legal engineering across the wider Legal and Compliance department. Combining legal expertise with a builder's mindset, you will design, develop and coordinate the development of legal automation solutions - from contract and document automation to intelligent workflows, self-service tools and data pipelines - that make legal work faster, more consistent and more scalable. You will be the department's go-to expert on applying AI in the legal field, identifying high-value use cases, evaluating and deploying legal AI tools, and embedding them safely and effectively into day-to-day practice. You will also support the team's IP and brand protection work, bringing automation and AI to bear on monitoring, enforcement and portfolio management. You will be commercially minded, eager to understand our business and services, and comfortable collaborating with legal, compliance, engineering and product stakeholders both inside and outside the group.
What you'll actually do
- Design, develop and coordinate the development of legal automation solutions across the department (document and contract automation, intelligent intake, workflow and approval automation, dashboards and reporting).
- Translate legal processes into structured, automatable workflows and maintain a prioritised roadmap of automation opportunities.
- Coordinate delivery with internal stakeholders and external vendors/engineers, from requirements through build, testing and rollout.
- Act as the department's subject-matter expert on the use of AI in the legal field.
- Identify, evaluate, pilot and deploy legal AI tools for drafting, review, research, summarisation and knowledge management.
- Define responsible-use guidelines, quality controls and human-in-the-loop safeguards, and upskill the team on effective AI use.
- Drafting, standardising and templating of contracts and legal documents, with automation of generation, review and lifecycle steps.
- Structured management and processing of legal documents and data to support search, analytics and reuse.
- Support the team's IP and brand protection work, applying automation and AI to monitoring, enforcement and portfolio management.
- Development and monitoring of internal procedures, tooling and legal-ops improvements; support in administrative legal tasks.
- Drafting and negotiation of contracts.
- Management and processing of documents and data.
Who we’re looking for
- University degree in Law (LLB and/or LLM). Additional training or certification in legal technology, legal operations, data or AI is an advantage.

- Demonstrated, hands-on track record of delivered legal automation and AI-enabled solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and coordinate the development of legal automation solutions.
- Excellent understanding of, and ability to use, AI in the legal field (e.g. LLM-based tools, prompt design, evaluation and responsible-use practices).
- Practical experience with legal-tech and automation tooling (e.g. document/contract automation, CLM, workflow / no-code or low-code platforms); familiarity with data handling and light scripting is a plus.
- Ability to map legal processes and translate them into automated workflows.
- Working knowledge of online brand protection and IP is an advantage.
- Experience working hands-on in or with international digital companies.
