Our team is looking to welcome a Lead Financial Analyst into the fold. In this capacity within the TCO Agent Platform, you'll act as the connective link between cloud finance functions, accounting practices, and AI-driven cost oversight. Partnering closely with the Financial Operations Agent, Commitment Optimization Agent, and FinOps leadership, your duties will span running month-end closing cycles, checking automated journal entries for accuracy, tracking promotional credit amortization, examining allocation variances, and confirming cloud provider billing accuracy. You'll act as the essential human checkpoint who signs off on financial treatment decisions, works through cost attribution discrepancies, and upholds SOX-adjacent control standards.
Responsibilities
- Examine and authorize batches of draft journal entries produced by automated systems, sorted according to company code, G/L account, and cost center, while chasing down flagged anomalies and making sure exported JEs align correctly with the accounting platform
- Match raw billing figures against invoices issued by cloud vendors and apply amortization schedules for credits using pre-set credit-type tables, confirming that credit distributions align completely with gross credit totals without any leftover gaps
- Administer allocation methodologies—percentage-driven, usage-driven, and fixed—across a network of over 40 cost centers, and implement re-classification directives so operating costs stay mapped correctly to project budget categories
- Team up with Finance colleagues to conduct quarterly re-forecasting exercises at the org-space tier, refining workload-specific growth projections to account for natural growth patterns and upcoming pipeline expenditures
- Compare actual cloud usage costs against contractually committed revenue figures with vendors such as AWS and GCP, verify that rates charged for leading SKUs correspond to agreed pricing tiers, and submit dispute tickets whenever discrepancies surpass allowable limits
- Cross-check journal entry results and cost center sums on a line-item basis, comparing outputs from older financial reporting systems against the newly introduced FOCUS-normalized EDR during the period both systems run side by side
Requirements
- Bachelor's and Master's-level education in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a comparable area of study
- No fewer than five years of relevant, hands-on background in Financial Analysis, Corporate Accounting, FinOps, or Technology Business Management, with experience in a multi-cloud enterprise context considered a plus
- A minimum of one year spent in a leadership capacity managing teams
- Firm command of general ledger practices, methods for allocating cost centers, month-end closing routines, credit amortization approaches, and compliance frameworks tied to SOX or similar standards
- Well-developed communication and teamwork capabilities that support productive engagement with Platform Owners, Accountants, FinOps leadership, and Engineering staff when explaining financial discrepancies and analyzing underlying drivers
- Exposure to enterprise-level programming or scripting languages like Java or Python is beneficial, aiding understanding of automated system logic and data integration requirements
- Adequate communication skills combined with functional English ability rated at B2 or higher
Nice to have
- Hands-on familiarity with platforms such as Jira for tracking workflows, Slack or Teams for coordinating operations, and BI tools like Looker Core Studio or similar alternatives
- Moderate-to-strong SQL capabilities (with BigQuery experience being favorable) plus skill in Excel or comparable analytical tools to pull cost information, run reconciliations, and check financial results
- General awareness of public cloud billing structures like GCP Cloud Billing and AWS CUR, commitment-based purchasing options such as CUDs, RIs, and Savings Plans, and cost distribution frameworks including Org-Spaces and Cost Centers
