Our customer is a market leader who fulfills the development, production, and integration of high-performance Infotainment systems for the Automotive industry (Tier-1 supplier for car manufacturers).
Responsibilities
- Performs database validation tests for one or more projects on test benches and test vehicles.
- Applies specifications, user guides, use cases, comparable products, and previously known bugs to create and maintain test plans, test designs, and test cases.
- Performs manual and automated testing. Performs session-based exploratory testing.
- Identifies software/database issues and transfers problem issues into the issue tracking system with supporting log files and data.
- Verifies the fixes for the software/database issues.
- Records, processes, and analyzes data with PC-based tools and test instrumentation.
- Documents testing and creates test reports.
- Coordinates with different departments domestically and internationally
- Participates in requirements reviews, design reviews, and other activities in the framework of an Agile/Scrum development process.
- Provides technical support for the resolution of various customer and interdepartmental issues on an as-needed basis.
- English is very good (spoken and written).
SKILLS
Must have
- The role requires proficiency in developing and executing test cases, supported by a solid understanding of both functional and non-functional software testing. Candidates should be familiar with the software testing life cycle and various test design methodologies, including functional, performance, stress, load, risk-based, and scenario testing. Experience in an embedded automotive environment, particularly within product or test engineering, is essential. Expertise in interacting with human-machine interfaces (HMI) and infotainment systems is also expected.
Hard skills expected include:
- Use of bug tracking tools such as Elvis and Bugzilla.
- Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and version control systems or their equivalents.
- Knowledge of computer hardware, networking, and Linux command-line operations.
- Familiarity with technologies and testing methods in domains like radio, media, navigation, Bluetooth, voice recognition, and vehicle networking
Soft skills are equally important, encompassing:
- Strong attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Creative problem-solving abilities, particularly in identifying and reproducing complex software defects.
- Possession of a valid driving license.
Nice to have
- Vehicle networking experience (CAN, MOST): Optional proficiency in vehicle communication protocols, enabling effective interaction with in-vehicle networks.
- ISTQB Foundation Level certification or equivalent: Optional formal qualification demonstrating fundamental knowledge of software testing principles.
- Working knowledge of shell scripting (multiple scripting languages): Optional ability to use shell scripting and familiarity with various scripting languages to automate tasks and support development processes.
