Larian Studios is looking for a motivated and hands-on Junior Security Engineer to help strengthen and support the security posture of our global studio environment.
This role is ideal for someone early in their cybersecurity career who wants exposure to infrastructure security, vulnerability management, monitoring, and operational security within the gaming industry.
You will work closely with IT, infrastructure, and development teams to support security operations, investigate threats, improve security controls, and help maintain best practices across the organisation.
Responsibilities
Assist in identifying, assessing, and mitigating vulnerabilities across infrastructure and applications
Support the deployment and operation of security tools across multiple systems and environments
Perform security monitoring, vulnerability scanning, and assist with log analysis to detect incidents and threats
Support technical security audits and help provide actionable recommendations
Assist in maintaining secure baseline configurations for Windows and Linux systems
Participate in incident handling and escalation procedures
Help educate staff on information security best practices
Research and learn new technologies, tools, and security techniques
Maintain up-to-date security documentation and operational procedures
Participate in change management workflows to support secure implementations
Requirements
1–3 years of experience in IT, infrastructure, or cybersecurity-related roles
Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and industry best practices
Familiarity with vulnerability scanning or security monitoring tools
Basic understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems
Basic exposure to scripting or automation tools such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Good written and verbal communication skills in English
Passion for cybersecurity and willingness to learn
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Nice to Haves
Exposure to SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, or vulnerability management tools
Interest in learning security automation and scripting
Experience supporting multi-site or international environments
Cloud platform exposure (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Interest in gaming or gaming industry environments
Understanding of networking fundamentals
