FinOps Lead - Cloud Cost Management
We are seeking a highly proactive and hands-on FinOps Specialist to take ownership of our cloud expenditure. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in cloud cost management and resource optimization. In this role, you will not only execute cost-saving measures but also build and drive FinOps processes across the organization from the ground up.
Responsibilities
- Hands-On Cloud Optimization: Analysis of cloud usage patterns, identification of infrastructure waste, and direct implementation of cost-saving strategies (e.g., purchase and management of Reserved Instances or Savings Plans)
- Process Engineering: Design, setup, and continuous improvement of FinOps workflows and governance processes between Engineering, Finance, and Management
- Audit Management (SPOC): Act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for all internal and external IT/Financial audits related to cloud operations and FinOps compliance
- Workflow Tracking: Extensive use of Jira to build workflows, track optimization initiatives, and manage the lifecycle of cost-saving tasks from discovery to resolution
Requirements
- Proven Hands-On Experience: Deep, practical experience in FinOps. You must know how to technically optimize cloud costs, not just advise on them
- Tooling Expertise: Mandatory experience with cloud provider native dashboards (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, GCP Billing) and third-party FinOps tools
- Process Setup: Demonstrated ability to build and enforce FinOps processes
- Jira Proficiency: Strong experience with Jira for tracking, reporting, and process automation
Nice to have
- CISA Certification (Certified Information Systems Auditor) is highly desirable to support the audit SPOC responsibilities
- FinOps Foundation Certification (FinOps Certified Practitioner)
