We are looking for a curious, commercially-minded Operating Model Consultant to join our hybrid Digital Consulting European team. You will work alongside senior consultants on live client engagements and presales pursuits, building deep operating model and organisation design expertise alongside broader digital consulting skills: strategy, value, and process.
This is a role for someone who wants to grow quickly: you will contribute from day one, take on increasing ownership of workstreams, and develop into an independent consultant.
EPAM Digital Consulting helps senior executives define how their organisations will work in the age of AI: from strategy and operating model through to the systems, data and engineering that bring it to life. Our consultants combine structured business thinking with EPAM’s deep engineering capability, giving us access to C-suite conversations and opening the door to larger transformation programmes.
Operating Model Design is a growing and increasingly in-demand capability within the practice. We help clients across retail, consumer goods, life sciences and energy define their target operating models, organisation structures, governance frameworks and new ways of working; often as the foundation for AI-enabled transformation.
Responsibilities
- Support the design and delivery of operating model engagements including current-state assessment, gap analysis, target operating model design, role and structure definition, governance design and roadmapping across multiple clients and industries
- Support strategy and business case work by analyzing markets and client ambitions, shaping strategic options and connecting initiatives to measurable business value
- Support the application of value frameworks and benefit models, linking capabilities, initiatives and KPIs to outcomes so every piece of client work is clearly connected to value
- Plan and facilitate client workshops and produce clear, insightful materials for senior stakeholders
- Support presales and RFP responses including solutioning, proposal content and early-stage client workshops, helping shape new opportunities with account and engagement leads
- Contribute reusable frameworks, case studies and point-of-view content to strengthen the practice’s offering and sales materials
- Take ownership of discrete workstreams, managing client relationships and deliverables directly and, as experience builds, run smaller pieces of work with minimal oversight
- Flex across several live engagements as capacity is needed, working as part of blended teams with EPAM engineers, designers and technology specialists
Requirements
- Operating model fundamentals including experience in or a strong grounding in operating model and target operating model design: roles, structures, governance and ways of working
- Consulting toolkit with structured problem-solving and demonstrated experience of gap analysis, roadmapping and building a business case
- Strategy and value thinking with ability to frame strategic questions, understand value frameworks and benefit cases and link capabilities and initiatives to business outcomes
- Process understanding with confidence reading end-to-end process flows and translating them into operating model implications
- Client-ready communication including excellent written and verbal communication, strong storytelling and slide-building skills and confidence to facilitate workshops and present to senior stakeholders
- Commercial awareness with interest in and ideally some exposure to presales, proposals or RFP responses
- Technology fluency with curiosity about how AI, data and technology reshape the way organisations work; a solid understanding of technology operating models is a plus
- Experience typically 2–6 years in management or strategy consulting or relevant industry transformation roles;
- Mindset that is proactive, collaborative and comfortable working across multiple engagements and industries; a clear problem solver with creative thinking
Nice to have
- Exposure to retail, consumer goods, life sciences or energy transformation programmes
- Experience in a large consultancy including familiarity with staffing and presales processes
- Experience applying AI and automation in a business or operating model context
- Change management or process improvement certifications such as Prosci or Lean Six Sigma
