About your role

We are seeking a skilled DBA with a focus on PostgreSQL to join our infrastructure team and contribute to the development and scaling of our database infrastructure. This role is centered around системatic work with PostgreSQL as a core infrastructure component - from analyzing the current state to implementing architectural changes that impact performance, reliability, and cost.

What you’ll be doing

• Developing and maintaining PostgreSQL infrastructure (clusters, installations)
• Configuring  and optimizing performance and fault tolerance
• Working with scaling and high-load scenarios
• Handling cost optimization (including analysis of managed vs self-hosted solutions)
• Automating operations and environment provisioning (dev / staging / load)
• Participating in migrations and architectural changes
• Supporting existing solutions involving self-hosted MySQL and AWS managed services (ElastiCache, MemoryDB, RDS)
• Handling incidents and complex cases from product teams
• Influencing best practices and approaches to database usage across the company

We hope that you have

• Deep expertise in PostgreSQL (architecture, tuning, operations)
• Experience working with performance and high-load systems
• Experience with cloud environments and managed database solutions
• Automation skills - IaC (SaltStack / Puppet / Ansible / Terraform), CI/CD, bash/python scripting
• Understanding of trade-offs between performance, reliability, and cost
• Ability to work in ambiguous environments and take ownership of tasks
• Strong communication skills when working with developers and infrastructure teams

Nice to have

• Experience with Redis and Kafka
• Kubernetes (stateful services)
• Experience migrating between managed and self-hosted solutions
• Experience with load testing and comparative analysis of solutions
