Data Lead

About the Position

We are looking for a Data Lead (Data Architect) to lead the design and evolution of target data models within an 18 month capital markets data migration program to AWS. You will act as a key bridge between business and technology, defining data architecture, ensuring consistency and scalability across datasets, and enabling a reliable foundation for critical systems, including custody, clearing, settlement, derivatives, and CCP operations.

About the Team

You will lead a cross functional team of data engineers, analysts, and domain experts, owning technical direction, setting quality standards for data modeling, and organizing and assigning work through clearly defined delivery workflows to track progress through to completion.

Responsibilities

• Design, maintain, and enforce scalable target data models and architecture for legacy to cloud migration.
• Provide technical leadership to the data team, establishing best practices in data modeling, documentation, and governance.
• Organize and assign work, manage dependencies, track progress, and mentor engineers and analysts.
• Analyze legacy data structures, identify gaps, and translate complex business requirements into reusable, high quality data models.
• Collaborate with data engineers to align data transformations (ETL/ELT), data quality processes, CI/CD practices, and upstream dependencies.
• Ensure data consistency, traceability, and integrity throughout all migration phases.

Requirements

• Advanced SQL skills with Oracle and PostgreSQL, deep database knowledge, and strong relational data modeling experience.
• Advanced Python for data processing and strong hands on experience with dbt or equivalent transformation frameworks.
• Proven experience designing data warehouses and migrating data to AWS, supported by a solid software development background.
• Strong understanding of ETL/ELT transformation pipelines and CI/CD practices in data environments.
• Solid knowledge of data governance, data quality, and documentation frameworks.
• Proven ability to lead data teams, structure workflows, assign and track work, and deliver results in complex environments.
• Fluency in Spanish, both written and spoken.

Nice to Have

• Experience in capital markets, including custody, clearing, settlement, derivatives, and CCP.
• Experience with AWS Data Engineering services such as Glue, Athena, and Redshift.
• Advanced Java, Spring, or Spring Boot development experience.
• Experience with Maven, Git, Bash scripting, Docker, or Podman.
• Experience with API design and integration, enterprise data standards, and data lineage or metadata management tools.
• Experience with large scale data migration involving Oracle based legacy systems.
