Data Engineer
Project description
Role We are seeking a data-focused developer to join our technology team and contribute to the development of modern, scalable web applications. The role focuses on building high quality user interfaces and integrating data from internal database driven APIs, external services, and third party content providers. You will collaborate closely with backend engineers, UX designers, and product stakeholders to deliver performant, reliable, and user friendly digital solutions within an API driven architecture.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational support for existing reports/dashboards
- Participate in analysis, design, development, testing, deployment and support of dashboards and reports
- Perform data integration into the tool, maintanance and support
- Perform impact analysis and validation of existing production reports and universes after application and database upgrade
- Implement industry BI standards and best practices
- Proactively identify problems/issues/risks and provide solutions
SKILLS
Must have
- Strong SQL skills (joins, aggregations, debugging complex queries)
- Python or similar scripting language
- Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS preferred: S3, Athena, Glue)
- Understanding of data pipelines / ETL concepts
- Git / version control experience
- Strong analytical problem-solving
- Ability to debug data issues end-to-end
- Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to have
• Experience with PySpark or large-scale data processing • Exposure to Airflow / orchestration tools • Understanding of data modelling and reporting datasets • Experience working with JSON / APIs
