We are seeking a hands-on Data Analytics Product Owner with a strong focus on data analytics to join the company. In this role, you will own EPAM Demand Analytics products end to end: shaping use cases with EPAM Workforce Planning and Management (WPM) leaders, breaking business needs down into clear requirements, and working closely with Data Product Analysts / BI Developers and Data Product Engineers to define, test, and refine the underlying logic behind each solution. The ideal candidate combines product ownership with practical analytical thinking, is comfortable going deep into metric definitions and decision flows and stays closely involved with the team and stakeholders throughout delivery. You will be an active partner in a Scrum team, helping ensure what is built is both logically sound and valuable to the business.
About Project:
It is an advanced people analytics ecosystem enabling top management, resource managers, and business partners to gain deep insights into their teams and make informed decisions. The project spans multiple domains, including Staffing, GDO Operations, People Management, and others, and is supported by a team of 60+ data professionals, including analysts, data scientists, engineers, and product managers.
Responsibilities
- Own the analytics product backlog: Turn business problems into clear, actionable backlog items for Demand Analytics initiatives. Write user stories and acceptance criteria, work with the team to break down scope, and stay close to delivery to make sure the solution answers the real business need
- Own the business meaning and logic of every metric: Define what each Demand Analytics metric represents, how it should be calculated, which business rules apply, who uses it, and which decisions it should support. Work through edge cases and align definitions with both stakeholders and the delivery team
- Work closely with stakeholders: Build strong working relationships with WPM leaders, Staffing Partners and other internal stakeholders. Clarify real needs, challenge vague requests, and help turn business questions into practical analytical solutions
- Work day to day with the delivery team: Partner closely with Data Product Analysts / BI Developers and Data Product Engineers to shape solutions, review logic, clarify requirements, answer questions quickly, and make trade-offs as new information appears during delivery
- Drive adoption: Plan and lead training, communications and change management
- Champion the data-product mindset: Ensure metric and semantic definitions are governed once and reused across every consumption channel so the team is building a product, not a series of reports
Requirements
- Hands-on product ownership: Demonstrated experience with user stories and acceptance criteria, a prioritized backlog, and close work with a cross-functional Agile/Scrum team through delivery, ideally in support of data analytics products or initiatives
- Business metric and logic design: Ability to define KPIs and metrics in business terms and translate them into clear calculation logic, decision rules and usable requirements. Comfortable with validation of definitions, assumptions and edge cases with both senior stakeholders and technical team members
- Data analytics project experience: Proven experience on data analytics projects, with the ability to translate business questions into analytics requirements, partner with technical teams, and drive delivery of actionable insights
- Communication & facilitation: Strong verbal and written communication; comfortable with presentations to senior leaders and alignment between business and technical voices
- Cross-functional collaboration: Comfortable with close work alongside analysts, BI developers and engineers in a shared delivery process — involved in discussions on requirements, logic, priorities and validation from discovery through release
- Working knowledge of BI and analytics tools: Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau or similar analytics platforms — enough to engage credibly with BI developers and analytics teams on dashboard scope, user experience and reporting needs
Nice to have
- Domain depth in Staffing / WPM: Understanding of key staffing metrics, resource management processes, and the day-to-day decisions WPM leaders and Staffing Partners make
- Requirements engineering: Experience with translation of business needs into technical specifications, including data freshness, granularity and semantic requirements
- Change management: Experience with adoption of new tools, processes or data products, including training and communication planning
