About Salmon
Salmon Bank (Rural Bank) Inc., the banking arm of Salmon Group Ltd., is a technology-driven challenger bank in the Philippines operating under a BSP license. We combine the trust of a licensed institution with the speed and convenience of a modern financial product. Work within regulated financial infrastructure, where product, risk, compliance, operations, technology, and customer experience are closely connected.
About the role
- You'll be our first dedicated data analyst inside Anti-Fraud, focused on credit and card fraud.
- You'll conduct in-depth investigations of high-risk fraud alerts and complex cases, using SQL and internal systems to connect patterns that a case-by-case view misses.
- This role is being built now as we scale up our fraud analytics capability and strengthen how we report and respond to risk across the business.
What you'll do
- Conduct in-depth investigations of high-risk fraud alerts and complex fraud cases using SQL, internal systems, and multiple data sources.
- Analyze transactional, customer, device, and behavioral data to identify fraud schemes, emerging trends, and suspicious patterns.
- Develop and maintain analytical reports, dashboards, and fraud performance metrics for management and operational teams.
- Identify new fraud typologies and recommend enhancements to fraud detection rules and monitoring controls.
- Perform ad hoc data analysis to support fraud investigations and business requests.
- Collaborate with Fraud Operations, Risk, Product, Engineering, and Compliance teams to improve fraud prevention processes.
What you'll own
- Evaluate the effectiveness of existing fraud rules and recommend optimizations to reduce fraud losses while minimizing false positives.
- Support root cause analysis of fraud incidents and propose preventive measures.
- Prepare investigation summaries and analytical reports for management and regulatory purposes.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of fraud detection methodologies and analytical tools.
What makes you a strong fit
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to work through large, complex datasets.
- Experience in data analysis, fraud analytics, risk analytics, or financial crime investigations.
- Genuine curiosity for data — you'll spend a lot of days finding nothing, and still show up ready to look again.
- Strong communication skills — you'll present findings to both technical peers and business and compliance stakeholders.
- Comfortable being the first person in a growing function, without a fixed playbook yet.
- Knowledge of banking, fintech, payment systems, or fraud prevention is a genuine advantage, though not required. We care more about analytical rigor than industry background.
What we offer
You'll be the first person in this role, working directly with the Head of Anti-Fraud. Your analysis feeds directly into what gets reported to the Bank's board and compliance function. If the role proves out, it can grow into a larger analytics function.
