As an Applications Support Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining business applications used across multiple departments, ensuring their stability, performance, and alignment with business needs.
You will work closely with internal users and technical teams to troubleshoot issues, improve application functionality, and support automation of business processes through integrations and system enhancements.
What you'll actually do
- Provide day-to-day support for business applications under the supervision of a Team Lead
- Investigate and resolve application issues, ensuring timely response and resolution
- Escalate complex or critical issues when required
- Analyze application functionality and identify areas for improvement
- Suggest enhancements to improve performance and usability
- Support optimization of both frontend and backend application behavior
- Support automation of business processes through system configurations and integrations
- Work with data flows and integrations between applications
- Assist in implementing improvements that increase operational efficiency
- Work with internal users to understand needs and improve application performance
- Provide consultation and support to business teams
- Ensure clear communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Participate in deployment of new applications and features
- Maintain records of configuration changes and updates
- Support release and update processes
- Document processes, configurations, and solutions
- Monitor application performance and track key metrics
- Contribute to knowledge base and internal documentation
Who we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3–5 years of experience working with business applications (as administrator, developer, or support engineer)
- Experience in application support or technical support roles
- Experience with application support and troubleshooting
- Experience with integrations and automation of business processes
- Knowledge of at least one programming/scripting language (JavaScript, Python, Java, Groovy)
- Understanding of ITIL practices and incident management
- Basic understanding of application architecture (frontend/backend)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders
- Good time management and prioritization skills
- Proactive and ownership-driven mindset
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change
- Team collaboration and willingness to grow professionally
