As BD Head, you will assist the General Manager in leading business development strategy across East China and key national markets, driving customer growth and revenue targets with the BD team. As Head of the Shanghai Office, you will assist the Greater China GM in overseeing the day-to-day operations, team collaboration, and culture building of the Shanghai office to ensure efficient functioning.
RESPONSILIBITIES
I. Business Development & Strategy Execution
- Strategy Formulation & Execution: Based on the overall Greater China strategy, develop and implement business development plans targeting East China and key national markets, focusing on high-value clients and key industries to achieve revenue and market share goals.
- Client & Channel Development: Lead the acquisition and maintenance of major clients and strategic partners; build senior-level client relationships; expand diversified business channels and drive cross-regional, cross-business-line collaboration.
- Pipeline Management & Conversion: Lead the team in managing the full lifecycle of potential opportunities (identification, follow-up, negotiation, closing); optimize the sales funnel to improve conversion efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Market Intelligence & Brand Building: Conduct in-depth analysis of industry trends, competitive dynamics, and policy changes to support business decisions; enhance the company's brand presence in East China through industry events and high-level networking.
II. Team Management & Development
- Build and optimize the BD team structure; recruit, train, motivate, and evaluate team members to develop a high-performing, professional sales and business development team.
- Establish standardized business development processes to improve team efficiency and professionalism.
- Foster a results-oriented, collaborative team culture and drive effective cross-functional coordination (e.g., Marketing, Product, and Delivery teams).
III. Government & Institutional Relations
- Government & Institutional Relations: Represent Xsolla in establishing and maintaining relationships with relevant Shanghai government agencies, industry associations, industrial parks, and regulatory bodies; track policy developments and regulatory changes, assess their impact on business in advance, and provide input for company decision-making.
- Serve as the cultural and communications hub of the Shanghai office; facilitate the effective communication and implementation of headquarters' commercial strategies and policies, strengthening team cohesion and sense of belonging.
- Coordinate collaboration between the Shanghai office and regional offices in Beijing, Hong Kong, and the global headquarters to ensure smooth information flow and resource alignment.
- Manage external communications and host important visitors; maintain strong relationships with government bodies, industrial parks, partners, and other external organizations.
1. Experience & Background
Bachelor's degree or above (full-time enrollment); 10+ years of work experience, including at least 5 years in business development, sales management, or general management; candidates with multinational or established local enterprise backgrounds preferred.
Familiar with the East China market (especially Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta region); strong client network and industry connections in relevant sectors (e.g., gaming, payments, technology).
Team management experience with direct management of 5+ people; experience independently owning regional or business unit P&L targets preferred.
