Automation Tester in Java
We are seeking a Quality Engineer specializing in automated testing with Java to join our remote team.
You will work with technologies such as Java (Selenium), SQL, and TypeScript (Playwright), focusing on both automation and manual testing as needed. The role involves building and executing test cases from user stories and requirements, ensuring high-quality product releases. You will collaborate with international teams and contribute to expanding our automation capabilities. This is a fully remote position with working hours from 1 pm to 9 pm, allowing for flexibility and a healthy work-life balance.
The project involves developing and testing innovative applications for a global media client whose products are used by millions of users. You will be part of a team, working on solutions that leverage modern technologies and best practices in quality engineering.

Responsibilities
- Independently and collaboratively test applications (automation and manual testing)
- Build test cases based on user stories and business requirements
- Program and debug automated tests (Java/Selenium, Typescript/Playwright)
- Test REST APIs and validate databases (SQL)
- Work closely with the Scrum team and participate in Test Driven Development
- Communicate with project teams to understand features and requirements
- Review and verify tests created by other team members
- Quickly and clearly report defects and progress
- Support troubleshooting of production issues
- Propose improvements to testing processes and tools
- Stay up to date with new technologies and testing tools
- Collaborate with onshore and offshore team members as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or other technical discipline
- 3+ years of experience with software QA and automated testing in Java
- AI experience (agentic AI, Copilots, prompt engineering) is a strong plus
- Experience testing frontend applications, microservices, and/or serverless applications
- Practical experience testing REST APIs
- Ability to write SQL queries and test database migrations
- Experience with test and issue management tools (e.g., Jira, QMetry, TestRail)
- Familiarity with version control systems and integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Experience working in cloud environments, especially AWS
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
