We are seeking an experienced Atlassian Administrator to lead the migration of Jira environments from Server to Cloud, manage Jira Cloud configurations, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure a smooth, well-documented transition.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute end-to-end migrations from Jira Server to Jira Cloud
- Analyze existing Jira configurations, including projects, workflows, schemes, permissions, screens, and automations
- Identify migration risks, dependencies, and data limitations
- Use Atlassian Cloud Migration Assistant (JCMA) and/or third-party tools to perform migrations
- Migrate Jira Software, Service Management, and/or Jira Work Management projects, along with issues, attachments, comments, custom fields, users, groups, and permissions
- Perform data validation and reconciliation post-migration
- Troubleshoot migration errors and resolve data inconsistencies
- Optimize configurations for Jira Cloud best practices post-migration
- Configure Jira Cloud projects, workflows, permissions, and automation rules
- Manage users, groups, access control, and SSO integrations
- Coordinate app migration and replacement with Cloud-compatible apps
- Maintain documentation of migration steps, configurations, and decisions
- Work with business teams to understand project requirements and priorities
- Communicate migration timelines, risks, and impacts to stakeholders
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT)
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a Jira Administrator, with hands-on experience in both Jira Server and Jira Cloud
- Proven experience migrating Jira projects from Data Center/Server to Cloud
- Understanding of workflows, schemes, custom fields, and permissions
- Knowledge of Jira Software and Jira Service Management
- Experience with Atlassian Cloud Migration Assistant
- Familiarity with Atlassian Marketplace apps and Cloud compatibility
- Basic scripting or automation experience, with skills in Automation for Jira and REST APIs as a plus
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously
- Comfortable working independently and making migration decisions
- Proficiency in English at a B2+ level
