AI Developer (Remote)
At Novakid, we’re building one of the world’s most engaging online English-learning platforms for kids. Today, we serve 100,000+ students and work with 4,000 + teachers across 15+ countries.
The role
We are building an organisation-wide AI initiative that connects our knowledge, data, and workflows into something people use every day. Small team, real ownership, mandate to ship. Not a lighthouse program. Not a deck.
You’ll be hands-on building, working directly with our CTO and Applied AI Lead. DevOps, Data Engineering, and Analytics are there to support you. The core AI build is yours.
What you’ll do
Architect the harness.
Design the agents.
Pick the models.
Run the evals.
Wire up the tools.
Ship.
Improve based on real usage.
Repeat.
What we need to see
- 5+ years shipping production software. Python, SQL, APIs, AWS or GCP.
- At least one AI or agent system you’ve put in front of real users — and the scars to prove it.
- Strong opinions on models, frameworks, and evals. Self-aware enough to know they’ll shift in six months.
- Power user of agentic coding tools. You build with AI, not around it.
Probably not for you if
- Your AI experience is mostly decks, demos, or weekend projects.
- You think AI’s ceiling is “copilot for simple tasks.”
- You map the territory for three months before writing code.
- You ship on vibes instead of evals.
How we hire
A short intro call, a take-home at your own pace (AI assistance allowed and expected), a live workflow session, and a final with the CTO. Around 4 hours of your time. Bring receipts — what you shipped, what broke, what you’d change.
When we throw a wild idea at you, your first reaction should be “how could this actually make a difference?” — then a working version by Friday.
