We are seeking an experienced Advent Geneva Engineer to design, develop, and support Geneva-based solutions that power investment accounting, portfolio management, and fund operations. In this role, you will collaborate with investment, operations, and technology teams to deliver robust, scalable, and well-integrated solutions across the trade lifecycle and reporting ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, configure, and support Advent Geneva solutions supporting investment accounting, portfolio management, and fund operations
- Develop and maintain Geneva workflows, business rules, accounting rules, security setups, and operational processes to support complex investment products
- Implement and support investment accounting and transaction processing across equities, fixed income, derivatives, private assets, and other investment instruments
- Configure and maintain security master, portfolio, entity, book, accounting basis, and reference data within Geneva
- Develop and maintain integrations between Geneva and upstream/downstream systems, including OMS, data warehouses, custodians, market data providers, and reporting platforms
- Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, data extracts, and reconciliation processes supporting Geneva operations
- Analyze and resolve production issues, data discrepancies, accounting breaks, and transaction-processing exceptions, working closely with Investment Operations and Accounting teams
- Support trade lifecycle processing, including trade capture, settlement, corporate actions, cash movements, income processing, and position/accounting updates
- Develop automated solutions for data validation, reconciliation, exception management, and operational controls
- Partner with Portfolio Management, Investment Operations, Fund Accounting, Finance, Data Engineering, and Technology teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Participate in the design and implementation of Geneva enhancements, releases, upgrades, and platform integrations
- Perform impact analysis and regression testing for changes affecting investment accounting and downstream reporting
- Create and maintain technical documentation, data mappings, process documentation, and operational runbooks
- Support UAT, system integration testing, production deployments, and post-release validation
- Monitor data and application processes and proactively identify issues affecting portfolio valuation, positions, cash, transactions, and financial reporting
- Ensure solutions comply with the company's technology, security, data governance, change management, and SDLC standards
- Work with geographically distributed teams and stakeholders, including US-based business and technology teams, to deliver solutions within agreed timelines
- Participate in on-call / production support activities when required, including investigation of time-sensitive investment accounting and operational issues
- Identify opportunities to improve automation, scalability, data quality, and operational efficiency across Geneva-based processes
- Contribute to modernization initiatives, including Geneva-to-cloud/data-platform integrations, API-based services, enterprise data platforms, and reporting modernization
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as an engineer supporting investment or asset management platforms
- Expertise in Advent Geneva / SS&C Geneva, including workflows, accounting rules, and security master configuration
- Strong background in Asset Management and Investment Management domains
- Understanding of investment accounting and portfolio management concepts, including NAV, valuation, positions, cash, cost basis, realized/unrealized P&L, accruals, and income
- Knowledge of trade lifecycle and post-trade processing, including trade settlement, corporate actions, and multi-currency accounting
- Familiarity with security master and reference data, investment entities and funds, and general ledger integration
- Proficiency in SQL / T-SQL, including stored procedures, data extracts, and performance tuning
- Skills in ETL/ELT, data integration, APIs, and system integrations with custodians, brokers, and market data providers
- Competency in Python or other scripting languages for automation and data processing
- Experience with Git/GitHub and CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with Jira and ServiceNow for issue tracking and change management
- Capability to support financial reporting, reconciliation, and operational controls across fixed income, equities, and derivatives
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (B2+ level)
